SYKORA FAMILY UPDATE (August 2006)

Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for your support and prayers. We are well aware that without your help we would not be where we are, that is at the half-way mark of our "support discovery." Our goal is to be able to move to Slovakia in September so that we would be available to the local Evangelical Free Church for the begining of their ministry year. If we want to accomplish that, we need to have our support raised by the end of August. This is wishful thinking, because it took us over two months to raise about 50%. For this reason we are asking you to join us in prayers to God for whom nothing is impossible. Could you please pray for the following requests?

1. Please pray for the following events, so that God would prepare the hearts of those we will speak to.
8/2 Albion  - Soul Cafe
8/6 East Williamson - short talk in the morning worship service
8/6 Oakridge, Herkimer - evening Soul Cafe
8/8 Brockport - meeting with the mission committee
8/12-13 Brockport - display table on Saturday and speaking in two services on Sunday
8/20 Gowanda - morning sevices
8/20 Gerry - evening program
8/27 Liverpool - morning service
8/29 Benefit concert in Edgewood FMC.

2. Please, pray for those who have already heard our presentation and are thinking about their involvement, so that they would have a clear sense of God's direction. There are  number of folks that said that they need to evaluate if any help would be in their abilities.

3. Please, pray for wisdom for us as we will be adjusting the numbers for our support. We did not realize that we need to raise additional $5,500 in yearly pledges for ministry in Slovakia (it is called "country shares") and we also spend more in our "start-up cost" than we had anticipated (for example, we give away much more materials than we had planned, and we also send more letters).

Thank you for your faithful friendship.
Josef and Lynette Sykora
