Over a two-year period,
Edgewood worked on the construction of a new building for the Talcahuano
Free Methodist Church, a small congregation located on the coast of
central Chile.
The first VISA team traveled to Talcahuano in January 2004 for a
two-week stay. Members of the team were: Dave and Jeanne Bartlett,
Michelle Bink, Day Butcher, Pastor Wally Fleming, Lou Becker, Jennette
Hand, Robert Hill, Tom Little, Glenn Marshall, Megan Peck, Jonathan
Phillips, Dean Powley, Danni Reybrouck, Keith and Lois Snyder, Wayne and
Missy Young. The team was able to raise the first story of brick walls
for the new church building. The church’s previous facility, an old
wooden structure, has collapsed, forcing the congregation to meet at a
local school while awaiting a new place of worship.
